THE FIRST QUARTER 🦍🏡🔥

Just a few months ago, The Greedy House was an idea fueled by faith, frustration, love for our city, and a simple belief that community care should feel real, accessible, and judgment free.

Today, we officially close out our first quarter of operations.

In just three months, we’ve welcomed hundreds of neighbors through our doors, provided groceries and hygiene essentials, created safe spaces for students, hosted community events, supported local families, partnered with schools and organizations, launched youth programming, and built a house that people are beginning to trust.

More importantly, we’ve listened.

We’ve learned what our community needs.

We’ve learned where the gaps are.

We’ve learned that people don’t just need resources… they need dignity, consistency, compassion, and somewhere they feel seen.

This first quarter wasn’t perfect. There were long nights, hard lessons, unexpected challenges, and moments where we had to figure things out in real time. But through it all, the support from Birmingham has reminded us why this work matters so much.

To every volunteer, donor, supporter, parent, student, partner, athlete, educator, and neighbor who has believed in this vision… thank you.

The Greedy House is still growing.

Still learning.

Still building.

But one thing is certain:

this house was never built for attention.

It was built for community.

And we’re just getting started.
