Even if those women probably weren’t expecting flowers, gifts, or even a simple “thank you” this weekend, we wanted to give a small token of appreciation. A small gesture can go a long way.

Besides, Birmingham got some strong women in it.

Today wraps up our Mother’s Day series and this one hit a little different bc this time, the camera got turned on me. 🫣🫣 (def unplanned. They jumped me 😂)

We talked about the lifelong friendship that can come with motherhood. Watching your child grow up, trusting them to make their own decisions, and praying that the values you poured into them stick when they step into the world on their own.

We talked about coparenting too. I ALWAYS correct people when they say “single mom”. J has had his dad 100% involved since he opened his eyes. And I can proudly say ee and Jourdin’s dad have always tried to keep one thing first: what’s best for him. Being able to communicate, be friends, and move with the love of J instead of ego made the journey a lot smoother.

And to the mama out there barely holding it together right now… don’t give up. Seriously. Some days are heavy. Some seasons feel never ending. But there is always a better day ahead. Keep showing up. Your kids may not understand everything now, but one day they’ll realize just how hard you fought for them ❤️

Not only did Malik make a monetary donation to support our mission at The Greedy House, but he also helped restock the pantry to help families right here in Birmingham. Actions like this matter.

Malik is a proud graduate of A.H. Parker High School and currently a student athlete at UAB. Coming from a family deeply rooted in service, leadership, and love for the community, he’s continuing that legacy by choosing to be a vessel for change.

Birmingham truly has some amazing young leaders stepping up right now, and our city — especially the A.H. PARKER community — should be proud of the example these young men are setting for the next generation.

Not everybody in #Birmingham is asking for a handout. Some people just need help getting to work. Getting to class. Getting to an appointment. Getting through the week.

That’s why we created 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙲𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝙼𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚓𝚎𝚌𝚝. 🚌

A new transportation support initiative by The Greedy House designed to help individuals access essential destinations through limited public transportation assistance.

Because one missed ride can turn into:
❌• a missed shift
❌• a missed opportunity
❌• a missed paycheck
❌• or a setback somebody can’t afford right now.

Starting Monday, May 18th, we want to help keep our city in 𝙼𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗.

Work. School. Medical. Essential appointments. Forward motion. That’s what this is about. 🦍🏡🔥
